Students of Hanne’s former dance school in Sydney, The Jazz Factory, are taking on the world! Anna Crichton (featured on the Downtown Dance Factory homepage) is starting an audition tour in San Francisco this week, ending up in New York in mid-September in time to see our new Tribeca studios! Another former student, Hanna Nussbaumer, begins this week at the famed Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance in London.
Congratulations and Good Luck to both girls – who danced with Hanne since they were just tiny! – and looking forward to having them just that bit closer to New York City. Pop in to Tribeca to inspire our young dancers!

Downtown Dance Factory is proud to be bringing TADA! Musical Theater downtown. As of Fall, TADA! will be offering Creative Musical Play and Musical Theater Skills Building classes for kids on Monday & Thursday afternoons at our new Tribeca studio location. Downtown Dance Factory is thrilled to announce its move to Broadway! In the fall, we’ll open the doors of our new purpose-built studio complex at 291 Broadway (corner of Reade Street in Tribeca) complete with three professional dance studios, reception area, girls’ and boys’ changerooms and restrooms, office and retail space … the full fifth floor of the building is ours! This has allowed us to expand our schedule to incorporate not only jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop and our boys program, but now also lyrical, tap, yogitots, adult classes and also birthday parties for kids!
WE’RE. SO. EXCITED!
So this blogging thing is new to us. We’re usually all about moving the feet to dance rather than moving the fingers to blog, but … it’s going to be a great journey. We hope all our fellow Downtown Dance Factory friends will join us for the ride!
