DDF in the studio, the stage and the streets

We had such a blast welcoming the families of our dancers to our demonstration classes! It was a joy to share what our extraordinary dancers have been working on. Grown-ups (and little siblings!) got to see their dancers shine as they showcased their technique, artistry, and passion.

We are so proud of our outstanding group of twelve seniors heading to colleges across the country – including some of the top dance programs nationwide! While we’re sad to see you go, we can’t wait to hear about all of the wonderful things you do!!!

After an incredible DDF season, our dancers performed at a WNBA NY Liberty game at the Barclays Center, not once, but TWICE – primetime and halftime! Take a look at some of the highlights captured during the performances. Our dancers were incredible, and the Liberty slayed!!

The excitement of the dance season continues in March with our visit to Jump NYC. Always a favorite because it’s right here in our “backyard”, DDF attended both competition and convention and had a blast! A special shoutout to our VIP Scholarship Convention winners: Amelia, Annaliese, Casey, Cici, Elle, Remy, Sophie, Sydney & Wynne!

What a fabulous first competition of the season! DDF’s Companies Ruby, Pink & Blue rocked the stage on Long Island this weekend at Turn It Up. The weekend was a huge success with DDF racking up the awards and being nominated for “Industry Dance Awards” in 4 genres, including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet & Musical Theater, for for best pieces in their genre over the entire competition. DDF also took home the coveted ADCC “Studio of Excellence Award”! Go DDF!

Go DDF! First convention of the season and what a success it was. Congrats to Declan on being a Breakout Artist Winner, to Amelia & Wynne on being Breakout Artist Runners Up, and to Elle, Kurie & Sydney for their Standout Scholarships!

What a great way to start the season!

Sending a huge congratulations to DDF Alumnus Atticus Dobbie who has just joined the Gauthier Dance Company in Stuttgart Germany! Atticus started at DDF when we did – back in 2009 in the little gym on Chambers Street. Who knew then that Atticus would be going off to perform internationally for a professional dance company! We are incredibly proud of Atticus for all his accomplishments and can’t wait to see him shine!

Who had an awesome summer dancing at DDF? These dancers did! What better way to spend the summer than dancing, forming lasting friendships and having an all out blast! Thanks so much to all our summer dancers – those that came for a week and those that came for all 8 weeks (and everyone in between too).

We had so much fun dancing with you!

We are incredibly proud of this amazing group of fifteen seniors who are off to colleges far and wide this fall, including to some of the country’s top dance programs! Good to luck to all our amazing seniors, and please stay in touch – we’ll miss you!!!

The Kids Breaking League (KBL) was founded by Victor “Kid Glyde” Alicea of the legendary Dynamic Rockers, who is also one of our awesome DDF breaking teachers! They run events such as this one, where crews and individuals come together to show off their skills in a positive environment. Go DDF breakers!!
